Mable Ann “Betsy” Johnston Harrell, 49, of Roanoke Rapids passed into the loving arms of Jesus Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at her home.
Mable was born December 12, 1970 in Halifax County to George and Mable Robinson Johnston. She was preceded in death by her father.
Mable graduated from Northwest High School and went on to become a CNA. She also worked with mentally challenged children, drove a school bus and was the director at Willow Daycare. She also loved her church life where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, VBS, worked with the youth and kept the nursery.
Mable was a very loving and loyal wife, mother, daughter and friend. She also put others before herself which was both her strength and weakness.
Mable is survived by her husband Joseph S. Harrell; her son, George W. Harrell; her mother, Mable R. Johnston; her brothers, Joe Stanley, Frank Stanley and Danny Stanley; her sister-in-law, Diantha Harrell Cavnar; her nieces, Haven Rhea Cavnar and Seanna Cavnar.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, April 3, 2020 at Good Samaritan Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis W. Gregory, Sr. officiating.
