Jack Foister Lambert, 85, died March 29, 2020 at home.
He was born in Halifax County on July 15, 1934, the son of Martin F. and Mabel Glascow Lambert. His parents; brother, Joe Lambert; sister, Lorraine Best; and beloved Dalmatian, Abigail, all preceded him in death.
Mr. Lambert was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and loved being in church. He was the owner/operator of Jack Lambert Logging Company. He would cruise timber; and, also owned a sawmill, doing much personal sawing for people. Mr. Lambert was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
Surviving is his wife, Nita; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lisa Lambert; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ben Erwin; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff Harris and Pamela and Jason Harris and Heather; grandchildren, Lauren Barlow (Justin), Timmie Lambert (Caitlin), Kendall Carpenter and Chris Carpenter; step-grandchildren, Scarlett Harris and Cameron Harris: and close, special friends, Vernon Dickens and Rodney Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm Thursday at the Lambert Family Cemetery (located at Jack’s house), followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Wayne Marshall presiding.
Attendees are asked to wear comfortable clothes and bring your own lawn chairs if you wish to sit.
