Rachel Johnson Turner of Seaboard, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

She was born on October 9, 1941 in Roxobel, NC to the late Samuel and Hazel Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Turner; her brother, Samuel Johnson; and her sisters, Loretta Buckner and Jean Lawrence.

Rachel lived most of her life in Seaboard, NC. There, she worked as a secretary before opening Turner's Drive Inn Restaurant. She was very athletic and played basketball in high school and softball for Seaboard Baptist Church. She also bowled in a league with her sisters and friends. Her many hobbies included traveling all over the country, going to the beach, collecting dolls, and shopping.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Carter and her husband, John; son, Steve Turner and his wife, Robin; grandson, Brian Turner and his wife, McKenzie; sister, Sue Moseley and her husband, Donny; sister-in-law, Rose Beacham and her husband, Marshall; special nephew, Ernest Turner and his wife, Jackie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM.

Interment followed in Seaboard Cemetery.
