Johnnie DeRother Boone Tromans, 95, of Jackson, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023.

She was born in Northampton County on September 30, 1928 to the late John Edward and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Ann Hasty Boone and was preceded in death by her husband, John Royston Tromans and her son, Mike Tromans.

Johnnie retired from Bounds Oil Company in Weldon and Seaboard after many years of service.

She is survived by her two granddaughters, Amanda Bell and Mike Harris of Garysburg, Amy Bennett and her husband, Dennis of Roanoke Rapids; her daughter-in-law, Rita Tromans of Roanoke Rapids; her great grandchildren, Cheyenne Hester, Madelyn Bell, Kobe Bell, Dracen, Devin and Andi Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Askew Funeral Service – Jackson Chapel in Jackson, with Rev. Sue Owens officiating.

 Interment will follow in the Jackson Cemetery immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home.
