With total submission to God Almighty, we the entire family of Obianozie Umudurubueze Umuemesim Obi Mgbidi — autonomous in Oru West L.G.A of the Imo State of Nigeria, announce the death of our beloved wife, mother, and grandma, the late Lolo Linda Diane Obianozie — nee Acree — also of Gaston, who passed away in the early morning hours of April 15, 2022.

Linda was born on April 4, 1956 to the late Fred Clifton and Helen Turner Acree. She was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Sam and Clara Turner and paternal grandparents, Pete and Maude Acree, and her baby sister, Angie Acree Fullwood. 

Linda was a loving wife, a compassionate mother, and devoted sister and daughter.

Linda was the first in her family to earn a college degree and she worked hard to become a wonderful nurse.  

Most of her nursing career was at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

She had an adventurous spirit and a caring heart. Many friends and family will have vivid memories of their time with Linda.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Justice Obianozie, her son, (Dee) Dennis Wade Newton Jr., grandson, Lex Baum, granddaughter, Regan Edwards, a stepson, Eugene Raney, brother, Donald Acree Sr. (Patsy), sister, Cindy Draper (Rudy), nieces and nephews, Donald Jr, Johnathan, Bryce, Amanda, Rudy, Ellen, and Gray, as well as three special cousins, Glenda, Debbie, and Randy. 

A celebration of life was held at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC on Tuesday at 5:00 pm with Rev Rudy Draper, III officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Linda’s name to The Valley House, a home being created for women overcoming addiction or other life trauma.
