Charles Robert Carver, 88, of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at his home. 

He was born in Beaufort County, North Carolina to the late Robert L. Carver and Olivia Wilson Carver and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Norwood Carver. 

Charles was a graduate of Williamston High School and a Veteran in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. 

He played football on a scholarship at East Carolina Teachers College now known as East Carolina University and attended NC State University as well. He retired from VEPCO. 

Charles is survived by his son, Robert Carver and his wife, Natalia of Owing, MD; his three grandchildren, Catherine Carver, Elena Carver, and Nicholas Carver; his special cousin, J. D. Carver and his son, Drew Carver of Jackson, NC. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at Rosemary United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Steve McElroy officiating. 

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC at 2:00 pm following the Funeral Service on Friday.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
