Edgar Russell Outland, 82, of Halifax, NC passed away on January 1, 2026 at ECU North Hospital.

He was born in Tarboro on December 13, 1943 to the late Edgar Frances Outland and Dorothy Hall Outland.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Edgar was a retired teacher who taught many years.

Edgar is survived by his sister, Yelba O. Lassiter of Greenville, NC and his two nephews. A gathering of friends and family was held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
