A Pleasant Hill man was arrested and charged today for a January 9 armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery at One 9 Travel Center Sunday night.

Captain Patrick Jacobs of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said Sergeant W. Killian, Lieutenant A. Collier, Sergeant M. Deloatch, Deputy G. Williams and the Northampton County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force took 38-year-old Jermel Broady into custody at his residence today around 2:30 p.m.

He was served warrants for the armed robbery of the Pleasant Hill travel center on January 9 and the attempted armed robbery of the business around 8 p.m. Sunday.

In the January 9 robbery, a large amount of cigarettes were taken and Deloatch took out warrants on Broady for felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny, and possession of stolen goods and property.

On Sunday the sheriff’s office responded to the travel center following a report of an attempted armed robbery in which no items were stolen.

Killian obtained warrants for Broady’s arrest on a charge of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He was jailed without the opportunity for bond and has a Thursday district court date.
