The Roanoke Rapids Police Department investigated multiple car breaking and entering’s over the weekend according to interim Chief Bobby Martin.

The breaking and entering’s occurred between March 23, 2019 and March 24, 2019, the incidents were occurring around 9pm and later. The suspects in this case were making their way around the area on a vehicle that would later be identified by witnesses in the areas where the car break ins were occurring. The vehicle break ins occurred in the areas of the 800 block of Virginia st., Autumn Circle, 700 block of Carolina st., and the 700 block of Williams st. There were multiple items taken during these break ins such as, GPS units, binoculars, gloves, clothes, wallet and other items. Due to help received from observant neighbors the officers working on these car break ins were able to get a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving. Officer S. Blythe spotted the vehicle after a description and a partial tag was given from one of the car break ins. The vehicle was stopped and the officers were able to identify the occupants of the vehicle and recover items taken during the car break ins.

Upon identifying the suspects and recovering property from the suspect’s vehicle six subjects were arrested (3/24/2019 12:03am). The suspects arrested are as follows; Zaire Edmond 19, from Nashville, Jaliyah Boyd 18, from rocky Mount, Kareem Hines 17, from rocky Mount, Ramon Peebles from Rocky Mount, Tyrece Anthony Jr., from Rocky Mount, and Daniyus Bradley 17, from Weldon were charged with breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. The court date for each is April 3, 2019 and they were placed under a $4,000 bond.

The assistance from observant neighbors enabled the officers to find and arrest the subjects responsible for these car break ins. The police department continues to investigate these incidents and more charges are pending.
