A freeze watch is in effect tonight through Friday morning.

After Friday, temperatures will gradually warm until the passage of another cold front in the middle of next week, bringing the next chance of rain.

Meanwhile, the NWS said Winter Weather Preparedness Week for North Carolina is December 1 through 7.

The NWS has a winter preparedness page which addresses the winter outlook, dealing with excessive cold, winter driving and other information.
