An erratic driving call Sunday afternoon led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Seaboard man.

Marshae Kentwan Moody was arrested and charged after Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a driver heading east on Highway 158 outside of Littleton who was reported to be “driving all over the road,” according to Major Anzell M. Harris.

Corporal M. Sledge noticed the vehicle near the Davie Fire Department.

Sledge attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the man later identified as Moody fled at a high rate of speed with his vehicle reaching over 100 miles per hour.

Moody drove the Charger into the Fairfield Apartment Complex on Highway 125 and then fled on foot.

Sledge, with assistance of Roanoke Rapids police officers, apprehended him.

Marijuana, marijuana gummies, a concealed AR style pistol and ammunition was seized from the vehicle.

Moody was charged with felony flee to elude, driving while license revoked, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, failure to maintain lane control and a window tint violation.

He was initially jailed without the opportunity for bond and had an initial district court appearance today.

According to the state court calendar, he has a December 16 district court date for the bulk of the driving and marijuana charges, a November 8 district court date for carrying a concealed weapon and expired registration and a December 9 district court date for the window tint violation, driving while license revoked and failure to maintain lane control.
