The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office today released further details on a Parkton area man who was reported missing by his family.

Major Anzell M. Harris said on Saturday around noon, Mohamed Dhabyani was arrested by deputies for trespassing on private property in the 6000 block of Thelma Road in Roanoke Rapids.

Dhabyani was given a $1,000 bond and confined to the Halifax County Detention Center. Hours later Dhabyani posted bond and was released.

After being released from the detention center, Dhabyani walked to the Dollar General on Highway 301 in Halifax shortly after 9 p.m. and was identified to be the person that stole a vehicle that had keys left in the ignition.

Dhabyani hadn’t made contact with family and family members wanted to report him missing.

On Sunday deputies located the stolen vehicle in a wooded area in the town of Halifax.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact law enforcement or call Halifax County Central Communications at 252-583-1991.
