The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Major Anzell M. Harris:

B&E arrest

A Roanoke Rapids man was arrested and charged Wednesday in a July 22 break-in in which multiple items were taken from a Key Street residence.

Detective A. Holland identified Billy Worrock, 51, as the reputed suspect.

Holland recovered the stolen items Monday and returned them to the owner. Warrants for arrests were obtained on Worrock for felony breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Worrock was served the warrants Wednesday. He received a $5,000 bond and August 29 district court date.

Chase

On Sunday shortly after 11 p.m., Deputy J. Snider and Corporal K. Taylor were conducting a saturated patrol in the area of Branch Avenue. 

Snider observed a vehicle with only one functioning headlight being driven by a man later identified as Keyshun Boswell, 29, of Littleton. 

Snider attempted a traffic stop on Dickens Avenue. Boswell failed to stop for blue lights and siren and failed to stop for several stop signs. He drove in the opposite travel lane, reaching speeds up to 105 miles per hour.

The pursuit ended at a residence on Straight Road off Highway 48.

Snider arrested and charged Boswell with felony flee to elude with motor vehicle, no operator’s license, fail to heed blue lights and siren, expired registration number plate, drive without two headlamps, fail to stop for stop sign, fail to maintain lane control and driving left of center.

Boswell remains in the Halifax County Detention Center. He has an August 29 district court date for the charges related to the chase and an August 27 district court date for a charge of assault on a female.
