The Halifax County Board of Elections has set its one-stop or early voting locations leading up to the November 5 general election.
There will be several sites throughout the county when early voting begins on October 17.
Those sites include:
The Halifax County Agriculture Building, 359 Ferrell Lane in Halifax.
Enfield Fire Substation, 9768 Ringwood Road, in Enfield.
New Resource Center, 116 West Third Street, in Roanoke Rapids.
Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 Roanoke Street, in Scotland Neck.
One-stop hours are posted in the accompanying gallery along with the candidates vying for office in the county and a guide to acceptable photo IDs, which must be presented to vote in person. Voters may also complete an ID exception form.

Halifax County residents who are not registered to vote may register and vote during the early voting period. Voters must provide a current valid ID as proof of residency.
The ID must show your name and current residential address.
The following Help America Vote Act documents are acceptable: A government document — passport, driver’s license, etc. — utility bill, paycheck or a bank statement.
