The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Shane Guyant:

Two Florida residents were charged with possession of a vehicle stolen from Virginia after the department received a Flock alert around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Lieutenant D.A. Newsome located the vehicle at a business near Julian R. Allsbrook Highway and conducted a traffic stop. He identified the driver as Stephen Murat Lucien, 28, of Wesley Chapel and the passenger as Kaylee Cheyenne Rogers, 25, of Newport Richey.

The Hampton Police Department confirmed the vehicle was stolen and after further investigation determined Lucien and Rogers matched the descriptions of the Hampton suspects.

The pair were charged. They received $7,500 bonds and July 25 district court dates.

Stolen van

On Wednesday a Seaboard woman was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after a Flock alert of a stolen U-Haul van from Georgia.

The alert was received around 8:30 a.m.

Newsome, Sergeant S. Langley, Master Officer K. Williams and officers M. Morris, and S. Pate canvassed the area in search of the vehicle, which was located at a Premier Boulevard business occupied by Erin Danielle Johnson, 35.

The vehicle was confirmed stolen by the Columbus Police Department.

Johnson was jailed without the opportunity for bond due to a 2023 felony larceny by employee charge.

She has a July 25 district court date.

Vandalism

On Wednesday around 2 a.m. the department responded to a call about damage to property in the 200 block of East Tenth Street.

Witnesses reported that occupants of a black four-door vehicle drove past the business and shot the windows with a BB gun. Two other businesses were also damaged within several blocks of each other on Roanoke Avenue, one of which sustained major damage to an exterior window.

Lieutenant D. Hundley worked to help secure the most damaged window.
