A Roanoke Rapids man faces methamphetamine trafficking counts following the execution of a search warrant in the Raleigh Drive area Monday night.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said agents of the regional drug and gang task force served the search warrant to Brandon Edward Reeves, 31, around 11:30 p.m.

The search resulted in the seizure of 5 ounces of meth.

Reeves was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling to store a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reeves, who is currently on post release supervision from the Commonwealth of Virginia for possession of a firearm by a felon, remained in the Halifax County Detention on $75,000 secured bond. He has a June 27 district court date.

Reeves was released from prison in Virginia last August.

It is undetermined how long he had been reportedly participating in the methamphetamine trade, Hall said.
