A Roanoke Rapids area man is wanted for fentanyl possession after a raid Tuesday of his motel room at Quality Inn.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s said Kenneth Lamont Lassiter, 52, was not in the room at the time agents of the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant.

Hall said Lassiter is known to frequent areas of Roanoke Rapids.

A search of the room yielded approximately 10 grams of suspected fentanyl, digital scales, a handgun, and a homemade smoking device.

The task force encourages Lassiter to surrender to law enforcement as charges are forthcoming.
