The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain Scott Hall:
On Tuesday shortly before 8:45 p.m. Deputy D. Bybee conducted an enforcement stop in the area of East Eleventh Street near Dogwood Drive in Weldon for an expired registration.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeremy Sykes, 39, of Garysburg.
Sykes was found to be driving while his license was revoked and was in possession of cocaine.

The passenger of the vehicle, Nakia Lashley, 46, of the Roanoke Rapids area was found to be in possession of alcohol, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana paraphernalia.
Lashley was issued a citation with a court date of May 13.
Sykes was arrested and issued a $5,000 secured bond and a court date of April 25. As of this report he remains in the Halifax County Detention Center.
Outstanding warrants
On Tuesday Deputy D. Williams responded to the area of the Dogwood Drive to attempt to locate Raymond Junior Banks, 45, on outstanding warrants.
Williams located the Roanoke Rapids area man in the area of Dogwood Drive and found him in possession of crack.

Williams arrested Banks for the outstanding warrant and charged him with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
He received a $6,300 secured bond and has an April 25 district court date for the cocaine count; a superior court date of April 22 for driving while license revoked; and an April 18 in Northampton County District Court for misdemeanor assault and battery.
He remains in the Halifax County Detention Center.
