A Roanoke Rapids man is wanted on cocaine trafficking counts following a search warrant executed by the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force Tuesday on Zoo Road South and New Hope Street.

The target of both searches was 38-year-old Alston Parker who served federal time in a case related to Derrick Ussery Sr. and Derrick Ussery Jr.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Shane Guyant said the search warrant on Zoo Road, based on what he described as copious hours of investigation and information from the public, yielded approximately 770 grams of cocaine, approximately 3.5 pounds of marijuana, 147 Oxycodone pills, a firearm, and approximately $12,999 in cash. That search warrant was executed shortly before 4:30 a.m.

The New Hope Street search warrant executed around 5 a.m. yielded $11,851 in cash and a 2007 Lexus GS350 registered to Parker. The cash and vehicle were seized.

Parker faces the following charges:

Two counts trafficking cocaine

Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine

Felony possession of cocaine

Felony possession of marijuana

Possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana

Felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Possession of a firearm by a felon

“The task force strongly recommends Parker surrender himself to law enforcement, Guyant said, adding the investigation is ongoing with the potential for more charges forthcoming against co-conspirators.
