Following what he calls a highly successful first term, James Mills has announced his intention to seek re-election to the Halifax County Board of Education.
“With a proven track record of dedication and achievement, I aim to continue my efforts in improving the educational landscape for the students, parents, and educators of Halifax County,” he said in a statement
The incumbent said during his initial term, he “has been a driving force behind several significant initiatives that have positively impacted Halifax County schools. My commitment to enhancing educational standards, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, and promoting transparency within the board has garnered widespread support from the community.”

Mills said he brings a wealth of experience and insight to the board, drawing from his background in education and what he describes as his “deep understanding of the needs of the community. My collaborative approach and unwavering dedication to the betterment of Halifax County schools have earned me respect and admiration among my peers and constituents.”
He said, “As I look to the future, I remain committed to addressing the challenges facing the education system while building upon the foundation of success laid during my first term.”
Mills said he aims to further prioritize student achievement, enhance resources for educators, and “ensure that Halifax County schools remain at the forefront of educational excellence.”
Said Mills: "I am proud of what we have accomplished during my first term, but there is still much work to be done. I believe that by working together, we can continue to make meaningful strides in providing the best possible education for the students of Halifax County."
He said today starts the launch of his campaign.
