The Weldon Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Christopher Davis:

On December 9 shortly after 11:45 p.m. Corporal S. McKimmey and Officer A. Dickens investigated a wreck on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway near New Dixie. 

The driver was identified as Duglas Alberto Tello Rodriquez,21, of Russellville, Alabama. 

Davis said Rodriquez admitted to drinking and driving. 

He was arrested and charged with DWI.

He received a $1,500 secured bond and February 16 court date.

On November 20 at approximately 6:45 p.m. Officer D. Thomas conducted a traffic stop on Third Street and Washington Avenue for a one-way street violation. 

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Elisha Marie Votruba, 33, of Littleton, turned left and went down Washington Avenue towards Second Street. She then turned right on Second Street and proceeded the wrong way on a one-way street.

Corporal I. Smith assisted Thomas and got her to stop.

Smith conducted standardized field sobriety tests and concluded Votruba was intoxicated. 

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol was called to assist.

Votruba was arrested and charged with DWI.

She received a $500 secured bond and January 10 court date.
