Incumbent Halifax County School Board member and current Chair Tyus Few filed Monday to retain his seat.

Also filing Monday, according to the county Board of Elections, was Curtis W. Young of Roanoke Rapids.

Candidates who have previously filed to run in the March 5 primary are Terri Silver and Heley Richardson.

In the Weldon City Schools Board of Education race incumbent Kimberly A. Robinson filed Monday.

Candidates who have previously filed include incumbents O.D. Sykes and Donna Harrison along with newcomers Noah Davis, Regina Brooks and Jennifer Wilkins-Doby.

Filing concludes Friday at noon.
