A Roanoke Rapids woman who city police Chief Shane Guyant said interfered in a Monday investigation also punched an officer in the face.

Guyant said Lieutenant M. Hunsucker responded to a report of a domestic assault at Fairfield Apartments off Highway 125.

While investigating the report Shalonta Vincent, 27, who was not the subject of the investigation, began to interfere verbally and physically with the investigation and assaulted a person in the presence of Hunsucker.

When arresting Vincent for that assault, she punched Hunsucker in the face.

She was charged with assault on a government official and resist, delay, and obstruct.

She received a $500 bond and January 26 court date.
