A man reported missing Tuesday has been located and is safe.

Halifax County Sheriff Tyree Davis said a North Carolina State Highway Patrol helicopter located 25-year-old Brandon Lee Williams as he made his way to a nearby roadway.

He was being treated by EMS but appears to be in good health. “I would like to thank the outpouring of response from so many agencies that assisted in locating Mr. Williams,” Davis said.

The sheriff’s office said earlier today Willliams was last seen entering the woods behind his home around 7 p.m. Tuesday. He was looking for his dog.
