The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

On Friday at approximately 11:15 p.m., Officer D. Bybee was making a routine patrol in the Chaloner Recreation Center parking lot when he came across a vehicle.  

During the investigation Bybee located narcotics and cited Raekwon Shahiem Carter, 17, of Roanoke Rapids, for possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor as a 13-year-old was with him.

Carter was released until his October 22 court date.

 

On Sunday at approximately 12:15 a.m., Officer H. Marshall was investigating a report of ATVs in the 400 block of Old Farm Road.  

Marshall located Andrew Lewis Fennell Jr., 31, of Roanoke Rapids, on an ATV and found him in possession of narcotics.  

Marshall cited Fennell for possession of marijuana and he was released until his October 12 court date.

Lieutenant J. Baggett and Officer M. Hunsucker assisted.

 

On Sunday at approximately 9:45 a.m., Officer E. Johnson responded to the area of the 500 block Henry Street about a person going into a vehicle.

When Johnson arrived he located Michael Lawrence Fahey, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, leaving the area.

Johnson detained Fahey and during the investigation he was identified as the person who reportedly went into the vehicle.  

Johnson arrested and charged Fahey with breaking/entering a motor vehicle and damage to property, which reflects damage done to the vehicle.

He received a $2,500 bond and November 7 court date.

On Sunday at approximately 6:15 p.m., Officer N. Velazquez responded to a robbery call at Shoe Show on East Tenth Street.  

The victim told the officer when they locked the store to leave there was a person going through their vehicle. When the person saw the victim he approached her, took her bag and business bank deposit and fled on foot.

The person was described as a black male wearing all black with a bandanna covering part of his face.
