Halifax Regional Medical Center and Rural Health Group have broken ground on a new medical office building on the campus of Halifax Regional.

The medical office is designed to further meet the community’s needs while assuring excellent and high quality healthcare. The partnership represents a long history of collaboration between the two healthcare organizations.

“The construction of this building is meaningful for the enhancement of public healthcare, and the reduction of avoidable emergency room visits and increased access to primary care in our service area. Rural Health Group is pleased to continue our partnership with Halifax Regional, while expanding our footprint on their campus and in the community,” said Yvonne Long-Gee, CEO, Rural Health Group.

The new 3,000 square-foot acute care building will replace the existing facility on the campus of Halifax Regional.

Designed to enrich the overall patient experience, the new medical office building will include six exam rooms and will be located next to the hospital’s Emergency Room entrance.

“The addition of this medical office sets the stage for both Halifax Regional and Rural Health Group to continue to be the first choice for patients in our area and a leading partner in a healthier community for years to come,” said Will Mahone, president and CEO of Halifax Regional.

Construction on the project is schedule to be complete this summer.
