A 50-year-old Roanoke Rapids man faces numerous drug charges following the execution of a search warrant Thursday afternoon.

Lieutenant Shane Guyant of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Katoe Harris Sr. was at the residence in the 1300 block of Virginia Avenue when the narcotics division, Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team and the Roanoke Rapids Police Department served the warrant based on an investigation.

A search of the residence by deputies and a canine yielded multiple bags of cocaine, bags of amphetamine, Xanax, Focalin, suboxone strips, and approximately $11,100 in currency. 

Four firearms were also located inside the residence.  

Harris, who received a $100,000 bond and January 26 court date, faces the following counts:

Felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine

Felony possession of cocaine

Felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II 

Felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule III

Felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV

Felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances

Felony possession of marijuana

Felony possession of a firearm by a felon

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Harris was convicted in Halifax County Superior Court in 1993 for common law robbery. This felony prevents him from owning or possessing a firearm.
