U.S. Congressman Don Davis Saturday was sworn in to represent North Carolina's First Congressional District in the 118th Congress.

"I am proud to take the oath of office alongside my colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives as we begin the 118th Congress,” he said. "It is the honor of my lifetime to serve in Congress and represent the great people of North Carolina’s First Congressional District. I stand ready to work in a bipartisan manner to get things done — to provide fast and fair solutions to the challenges facing our residents.”

Davis continued, “I am pleased that we elected a speaker so that we can start legislating and tackling the critical issues facing NC-01’s families. Everything that I do will be informed by the needs of eastern North Carolina. I will work tirelessly to ensure access to affordable healthcare, fight for our rural communities and farmers, honor our veterans and military families, and strengthen our local economy.”
