Detroit born American singer-songwriter stage nameUncle Kracker, rapper and musician known for his country and rock music took to the stage at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre Saturday night.

Matthew Shafer (Mike) aka Uncle Kracker's show rescheduled from Septermber 14th, made his way from Friday nights Lynchburg Virgina show to entertain the Theatre crowd.

Uncle Kracker was a turntablist for Kid Rock's backing group Twisted Brown Trucker and since 1999 has recorded as a solo artist. His singles "Follow Me" and "Drift Away" were top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 also Uncle Kracker flew up the charts to #1 with “When the Sun Goes Down,” a duet with good friend Kenny Chesney country music might’ve seemed an odd place to find the Detroit based good-time, Kid Rock alumni. But after a few tours with Chesney, the Top 10 “Smile,” and a pure country album produced by Keith Stegall, nobody doubts this feel-good rocker is exactly where he should be. Uncle Kracker’s deep melodies and sense of what the heartland means has made him a perfect fit in today’s post-rural realm of country music.
