Firefighters as of this report were still hitting hotspots and are investigating the initial cause, Johnson said.
Multiple Halifax County fire departments responded to Pelican Packaging outside Halifax this afternoon shortly after noon upon receiving the report of the fire.
Pete Roy, owner of the company off Highway 903, confirmed there was a fire in the back of the warehouse at the plastic recycling business.
He said there were no employees injured. “Everyone was evacuated,” he said.
He said the damages inside the warehouse were not known at the time.
