Halifax County Schools has received two donations from Smithfield Foods through its AmeriGas School Days program.
The AmeriGas School Days Program offers schools a $0.02 per gallon incentive to purchase items for any school-related need to provide school supplies, invest in new project initiatives, and fund teacher training and development.

Superintendent Eric Cunningham said, “We appreciate Smithfield Foods donations. It is a pleasure to partner with an organization that firmly believes in the power of education to produce successful and contributing citizens.”
LaVonne McClain, director of Secondary Education and CTE, said, “The donation will be used to support the Future Farmers of America student organization. We are excited to explore the varied opportunities for our students.”
Eric Parker, agriculture teacher at Southeast Collegiate Prep Academy, said, “On behalf of the Agricultural Department and FFA Chapter at SCPA, we appreciate Smithfield Foods donation and look forward to future partnerships with them.”
