Main Street Roanoke Rapids has several events scheduled for next month.

The programs begin on November 17 with a presentation by Reid Thomas on historic tax credits.

The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall on Jackson Street.

Thomas is a North Carolina restoration specialist.

The free event is sponsored by Main Street Roanoke Rapids and the city’s planning department.

On November 20 the Shop and Stroll Holiday Open House will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Roanoke Avenue Business District.

Businesses will offer holiday savings, door prizes and refreshments.

On November 26 businesses will participate in Small Business Saturday 

Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country and is part of the larger Shop Small Movement. 

Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. 

Since it started in 2010, consumers have reported spending an estimated $163 billion at small businesses across all 12 Small Business Saturdays combined.
