The Halifax County Health Department Wednesday reported an additional death related to COVID-19.
There have now been 194 deaths related to the virus reported in Halifax County.

The health department has resumed weekly reports due to an increase in positive cases. Halifax County remains in the orange category, which represents a significant level of community spread.
Since its update last week, the health department added 108 new positive cases of the virus to its data. Since March of 2020 there have been 16,933 total positive cases reported.
There has been a slight increase in hospitalizations reported at ECU North and a decrease in COVID wastewater measurements over the past week.
