The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Chief Deputy Scott Hall:

Armed robbery

On December 13 deputies responded to Lucky’s Sweepstakes on Highway 903 in Halifax. Two men entered armed with handguns and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The sheriff’s office is requesting any assistance in the identification of the pair.

The man in the black coat was described as having a lazy left eye.

B&E arrests

On December 27 deputies responded to the 7000 block of Highway 903 following a residential break-in call.

Deputies learned numerous items were stolen from the victim’s residence.

Detectives Corey Dixon and Matt Brown began investigating the case.

With the amount of cooperation from the neighbors and the detectives’ diligence they identified four teenagers.

On December 29 the detectives located the alleged suspects walking near Three Bridges Road in the Roanoke Rapids area.

Brown and Dixon arrested and charged Jabarri Rasheed Thomas, 19, of Roanoke Rapids; D’andre Warren, 18, of Henrico; Christopher Pitts, 17, of Weldon, and Dadrein McGee-Knight, 18, of Weldon.

They were charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.

They received $5,000 bonds and await January 16 court dates.

The majority of the property was recovered.
