The Halifax County Health Department reported Wednesday there have been 369 new positive cases of COVID-19 since its last update on May 3.

Due to the decrease in COVID-19 cases, the health department is only reporting on a monthly basis. The next report will be on July 5.

Since March of 2020 there have been 14,351 total cases of the virus.

Deaths related to COVID-19 are at 187 and no additional related deaths have been added since the May report.

“Now is a good time to get vaccinated and boosted,” health Director Bruce Robistow said.   

The department continues to provide all three COVID-19 vaccines and N95 masks.

Northampton County

The health department reported on May 25 there have been 4,410 total positive cases of which 4,295 have recovered. There have been 77 related deaths.
