The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Chief Deputy Scott Hall:
Tuesday around 9 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Allison Drive outside Scotland Neck to a report a woman had been shot.
Investigation showed, however, the woman was struck in the face by glass when a man identified as Raekwon Williams reportedly fired into the vehicle she was driving, Hall said.
Investigation by Detective B. Biggerstaff led to the identification of Williams, 25, of Scotland Neck.
Warrants have been obtained for his arrest on charges of shooting into an occupied vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, and injury to personal property.
The victim refused medical treatment.
Vehicle theft
On Tuesday around 5 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Three Flags in Weldon after receiving a report of a vehicle theft.
A dark green 2000 Camry had been stolen from the store’s parking lot.

Deputy P. Rackley discovered the suspect had been caught on video moments before the theft.
Chase
On Friday around 1:30 p.m. Deputy D. Bybee attempted to stop a vehicle in the 1600 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway in Weldon for fictitious tags.
The driver, later identified as Charles Jacobs, 23, of Garysburg, refused to stop and a chase ensued. The chase reached speeds of approximately 90 mph and lasted just over six miles.
During the chase Jacobs reportedly threw drugs out of the vehicle and fled from the vehicle on foot.
Bybee recovered 59 individual MDMA pills, 63 grams of marijuana, and three digital scales.
Jacobs is wanted for felony flee/elude with a motor vehicle, possession with intent to sell or deliver MDMA, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and no operator’s license.
