Cleveland Street arrest

Martin reported that Monday night shortly after 10:30 Master Officer D. Newsome responded to the 900 block of Cleveland Street on a trespassing call.

She was asked to leave but continued to argue, yell and scream. She then went back into the home and began yelling and screaming again and was taken into custody.

Officers located 2.50 grams of marijuana in her hands as she was handcuffed.

Officers observed her acting strangely as she was transported to the magistrate’s office and at the Halifax County Detention Center a further search was conducted.

That search yielded an orange pill bottle which contained 4.03 grams of heroin and 2.20 grams of methamphetamine.

Johnson-Serra was charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, and resisting, delaying and obstructing.

She received a $4,000 bond and May 20 court date.

Officer J. Wind assisted. “We would also like to thank the Halifax County jail staff for their assistance in regards to the discovery of the remaining drugs and paraphernalia,” Martin said.

Pill take back

Martin said the department hosted its annual pill take back on Saturday at DrugCo Express.

On Monday the department delivered nine boxes of medications to be destroyed. The medications had been collected throughout the year.

The total weight was 185 pounds.

“We would like to thank everyone who helped with keeping these medications off the streets,” Martin said. “We encourage everyone to please utilize the drop boxes for discarding your old and unused medications. With your help we can keep them from ending up on the streets.”
