The Roanoke Valley will have its first Bark For Life event on May 14.
This event, which is to help in the fundraising efforts for Relay For Life, will be held at the Town Park in Halifax.
The park is directly behind the Halifax Post Office.
There will be activities for dogs and their owners with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the event will end at approximately noon.

There will be prizes for the dogs in each area of competition:
Best costume
Best tail-wagger
Best kisser
Owner look-alike
Best trick
Top dog for the one who raises the most money.

All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The Bees Buzzing for a Cure team is hosting this event.
Only registered dogs with proof of vaccines will be allowed into the event space.
The first 50 dogs will receive treat bags.
