A Reidsville man faces methamphetamine trafficking charges following a stop early Thursday morning in Roanoke Rapids.

Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Scott Hall said Lieutenant Andy Cash charged Robert Glenn Norman Jr., 34, with felony trafficking of meth by transport, trafficking meth by possession, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver meth, felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and a rear lamp violation.

A search of the vehicle yielded 31.2 grams of meth.

The stop occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway near Cardinal Drive when Cash and Sergeant Dustin Newsome stopped Norman for a lighting violation on a Nissan Maxima. The officers learned the driver had a suspended license.

Norman received a $50,000 bond and a Wednesday court date.
