The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Captain Jamie Hardy:
On Thursday a man entered CVS on East Tenth Street and attempted to obtain a controlled substance by fraud.
The man used a made-up prescription to try and obtain the substance, which Hardy declined to immediately name.
The attempt was not successful and Hardy said police are investigating a similar case at another local pharmacy which occurred a couple of days before the CVS crime.
