Weldon police are looking for a man who on Tuesday night broke into a store in the 500 block of West Second Street and stole $1,000 worth of cigarettes and lottery tickets, according to Chief Christopher Davis.
About $200 in damages was caused after the front glass door was broken out shortly before 10:45 p.m.
Vance Jerome Parker, who has several pending court dates in January on similar crimes, is the man who is wanted. He frequents areas in Weldon, Davis said.
Sergeant L, Melton received the call which was in reference to a burglar alarm and found the glass door was broken.
His investigation determined Parker, 62, of Weldon, was the suspect. Officers searched the area but did not immediately locate Parker.
He is wanted for breaking and entering, felony larceny, possession of stolen goods and damage to property.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police department at 252-536-3136 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.

On December 19 shortly after noon McKimmey received a call about a larceny from a business located in the 200 block of East Second Street.
Clerks told the officer a female later identified as Audra N. Johnson, 25, came into the store to return an item and was refused because the item was already opened. The Weldon woman took an item of greater value and left without paying.
McKimmey located Johnson at her residence and placed her under arrest without trouble.
She faces charges of misdemeanor larceny and damage to personal property.
She has a February 10 court date.
