A Scotland Neck woman was charged Thursday with attempting to sneak a pack of cigarettes into the Halifax County Detention Center.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Detective T. Clark observed Keanndra Smith, 24, hide a pack of cigarettes in the lobby area of the jail.
Smith was arrested and charged with attempting to provide contraband to an inmate.
She received a $1,000 bond and November 17 court date.
