A Garysburg man faces drug charges after the narcotics and patrol divisions of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office were searching for a juvenile who had a secure custody order.
Captain C.A. Parker of the sheriff’s office said the juvenile was not located but the house where 31-year-old Eric Brewer was charged had been the target of past deputy and citizen complaints.
Parker said law enforcement continues to look for the juvenile.
In a statement Parker said on Wednesday shortly before 1 p.m. the officers, with assistance of the Garysburg Police Department, went to a residence in the 300 block of Highway 186.
Upon approaching the residence and making contact with the occupant, agents could smell a strong odor of marijuana.

Agent R.T. Horton applied for and was granted a search warrant.
Agents located and seized 422 grams of marijuana, a user amount of cocaine, two firearms which included a shotgun and a 9mm Taurus handgun, digital scales and a box of sandwich baggies.
Horton arrested and charged Brewer with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has a December 16 court date.
