The North Carolina Works Career Center, the Turning Point Workforce Development Board and the city of Roanoke Rapids are sponsoring a job readiness summit July 13, 14, and 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kirkwood Adams Civic Center on Hamilton Street.
The purpose of the event is to get youth from 16 to 18 ready for the workforce and topics include discussions on work permits, soft skills, and other common workplace issues.
On the third day attendees will be interviewed by local employers and possibly offered a job.
Attendees must be 16 to 18 and call the NC Works Center at 252-537-4188 to register.
They must also have a complete registration at ncworks.gov and attend all three days to be eligible for a job interview.
