A woman reported missing by family has been located and is safe, according to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

Investigative Sergeant Gorton Williams said 49-year-old Stacey Renee Pearson contacted her family and is no longer reported missing. “The Roanoke Rapids Police Department would like to thank the public and other law enforcement agencies in locating Pearson.” 

The police department said last week Pearson was last seen getting into a dark-colored SUV the morning of May 10.
