Two Roanoke Rapids men face drug and driving charges following a traffic stop at Hamilton and Fifth streets Thursday.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Bobby Martin said Detective C. Batchelor and PACE Officer C. Roberts conducted the stop.

The passenger, Racquez Sledge, 29, was found in possession of approximately 7 grams of crack and the driver, Jonathan Green,30, was in possession of an open container of alcohol.

Sledge was charged with felony possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with an outstanding order for arrest. He received a $1,000 bond and June 11 court date.

Green was cited for possession of an open container, expired registration, and driving while license revoked. He has a July 12 court date.
