The Halifax County Health Department today added one additional death related to COVID-19 to its data.

The latest death related to the virus brings the total to 105.

The health department also added 16 new positive cases. The latest positives bring the cumulative total since March of 2020 to 5,218.

The health department continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, and wear a facial covering.

In Northampton County the health department reported today there have been 1,750 total positive cases of which 1,674 have recovered. There are eight active cases. There have been 68 related deaths.
