An additional death related to COVID-19 was reported by the Halifax County Health Department today.

The latest related death brings the total 103.

The health department also added four new positive cases of the virus to its data. The cumulative total of positive cases since last March now stands at 5,088.

Northampton County

The health department reported Thursday there were 1,730 total positive cases of which 1,645 have recovered. There were 18 active cases. There have been 67 related deaths.

Halifax County first dose vaccines

The health department is taking first dose vaccine appointments for groups 1 through 4 by online registration only.

Appointments are being accepted by online registration only for Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Centre located on the campus of Halifax Community College.

The health department requests users use the Country Club entrance and follow the signs to The Centre.
