Weldon High School students this afternoon gathered for an assembly of a different kind — an assembly which incorporated the hip-hop stylings of Humble Tip and what he called “a healthy dose of positivity.”

Humble — Jason Lewis — presented the The Beautiful Tomorrow Assembly in the school’s gym.

“You can be confident in who you are,” he said. “For those who want something more you have to be disciplined, have confidence, have courage in what you do.”

He discussed bullying, telling the students to seek out help from administrators and teachers. “You’ve got your whole life ahead of you. You are not the problem. Your are valued, you are loved.”

Humble told the assembly bullies have issues as well. “Hurt people hurt people. You need to know bullying will not be tolerated.”

He also handed out cards so students can receive information about college.

His Instagram page — @humbletip — offers information on scholarships, merchandise and motivational sessions.
