The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain A.M. Harris:

On Monday shortly after 2 p.m. narcotics agents and Enfield police officers followed up on a drug complaint on Alsop Street.

After a short foot chase a man was identified as 28-year-old Cornelius Devonta Wills Jr.

A vehicle search yielded 33 individually wrapped bags of marijuana — 101 grams — a handgun, currency, sandwich bags and a digital scale.

Wills was charged by Agent A.D. Cash for resisting a public officer, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by felon.

He received a $10,000 bond with a February 17 court date.

Man wanted

An Enfield man is wanted for two counts each of possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and deliver marijuana.

Agent H.G. Phillips obtained the warrants after an investigation was conducted by the narcotics division.

Agents and the Enfield Police Department had received a Crimestoppers tip that drug activity was taking place at an apartment complex on Daniel Bridge Road.
